Opportunities for businesses

While encouraging residents to move into construction-related roles is important, we also want to help existing local firms to prosper. There are large projects taking place across the borough over the coming years and we want to help local businesses gain work from the master developers delivering these projects.

We have already held a Meet The Buyer event in March which saw over 100 businesses get involved in speed networking sessions and receive information from key figures in the construction sector. There are plans for another Meet The Buyer over the coming months. If you would like to receive notification of the next event, email construction@enfield.gov.uk with ‘Meet the Buyer’ in the subject line.

We also have a Construction Sector Forum which brings together organisations to work collaboratively for a better industry, providing an opportunity to tackle some of the major challenges. For example:

  • Attracting and retaining apprentices and employees
  • Raising the profile of the industry, emphasising modern construction skills and training to young people
  • Improving the capacity of SMEs to join the supply chains of larger developers, as well as the council
  • Driving improvements and innovation
