Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
HCPC is a regulator set up to protect the public. To do this, they keep a Register of health and care professionals who meet their standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health.
National Careers Service
The Social Worker page on the National Careers Service website shows key information about social work, such as job roles, careers paths and progression.
Social Work Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF)
An overarching professional standards framework, originally developed by the Social Work Reform Board, and now managed and delivered by the British Association of Social Workers (BASW).
The Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
The ASYE is a twelve-month programme for assessing newly qualified social workers (NQSWs). It supports the NQSW during their first year in employment, helping them to develop their skills, knowledge and professional confidence.
The British Association of Social Workers (BASW)
The largest professional association for social work in the UK. They promote the best possible social work services for all people who may need them, while also securing the wellbeing of social workers.
