Key messages from the June 2018 meeting of Enfield Safeguarding Children Board.

Child Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) restructure

There was a presentation from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) who updated the Board on changes,  specialist CAMHS services who work with complex mental health difficulties are now under  Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health (BEHMHT).

Serious Youth Violence

Ofsted commissioned a survey to look at how schools in London are safeguarding pupils against the threat of knife crime and how pupils are being educated on the dangers of carrying a weapon. The survey was sent to around 700 schools, pupil referral units and FE colleges and closed in May. An update on the findings from the survey will be brought to a ESCB meeting later in the year.

Threshold Document

Members of the Board signed off the updated Children Services Threshold Guidance. This document is a guide for anyone who has concerns about the wellbeing of the child and will support them in deciding who is the best person to support the family.
