Forty Hall, Enfield

Forty Hall at Forty Hill is one of the borough’s most famous landmarks and the site of another of its ancient monuments – Elsyng Palace, the former palace of both King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. The current hall is a Grade 1 listed Jacobean manor house and the former home of Sir Nicholas Rainton, Lord Mayor of London. Forty Hall is a heritage visitor attraction with fine architecture and stunning period rooms, as well as regular tours and exhibitions.
