Students celebrate being active this summer in Enfield!

Olympians Montell Douglas and Sir Mo Farrah visited students children in Enfield schools this summer. Their presence motivated and inspired the students about active lifestyles.

St Edmund’s RC school in Edmonton won a surprise visit from Olympic hero, and track star, Sir Mo Farah to celebrate their engagement in the Daily Mile this year.

Sir Mo highlighted the importance of young people staying active, he was warmly welcomed at a special assembly where he answered questions before joining the students on their Daily Mile run around the playground.

Students from seven schools in Enfield gathered for another special event this summer – celebrating their dedication to the Daily Mile. These students were lucky to meet and talk to inspiring double Olympian, Montell Douglas – Olympic sprinter and Bobsleigh star!

More than 40 schools in Enfield now engage in the Daily Mile – which encourages regular exercise and activity, aiming for students to spend 15 minutes per day running or jogging. There are no set up costs, no training is required for teachers and the focus is on having fun in a non-competitive and social environment.
