Construct With Us is back and bigger than before, giving students and residents in Enfield another fantastic opportunity to learn about jobs in the construction sector in the borough and beyond.

The event is hosted by Wilbury Primary School, Wilbury Way, on Thursday 25 May, offering hundreds of school children from across Edmonton the opportunity to learn about the industry.

Members of the public are invited to visit the school between 3.15pm and 5pm to hear about employment opportunities, training and apprenticeships. There is no need to book and the event, hosted by Enfield Council and supported by some of the biggest names in construction, is free.

The Construct With Us event is part of Enfield Council’s Build Enfield campaign, which encompasses a number of exciting prospects for students, apprentices and job-seekers. Company stalwarts such as Anderson Group, IHP/Vinci, Morgan Sindall, Waste Plan Solutions and WorkWorks are collaborating with the Edmonton Community Partnership* to offer a wealth of information aimed at promoting jobs in construction and to increase awareness of the breadth of opportunities available.

Enfield Council’s Director of Regeneration and Environment, Ian Davis, said: “We want to offer the chance for people to reach their full potential in an industry that has so many prospects beyond bricks and mortar. This event will help you realise what skills you possess to enable you to forge a career that can flourish and grow.

“Whether you are male or female, interested in computing or carpentry, whether you have a degree or are just dogged determined, our partners at Construct With Us can help advise on a career path that suits you.”

The event follows the huge success of the first Construct With Us event at Nightingale Academy in March. This month a number of industry professionals will be on hand to discuss what prospects are available in Enfield and how a job in construction can become a career for life. There will also be a presence from our local, further education colleges Barnet & Southgate College and The College of Haringey Enfield and North East London as well as business support and advice agency Enterprise Enfield.
