When Enfield Council's CCTV staff reviewed their footage from early one morning in August there was a very cheeky face caught on camera that they recognised.

The camera trained on the Pymmes Park offices and work yard seemed to prove too attractive to resist to a resident parakeet who decided to check out his own reflection. Parakeets are common in many parks in Enfield, and are known for their green plumage.

The Enfield CCTV Centre has 1,003 cameras connected to its network and recorded 18,766 incidents during 2015/16.

Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Community Safety & Public Health, Cllr Krystle Fonyonga, said: "Our CCTV Centre provides 24 hour a day coverage of the borough, and we find that some people will go to great lengths to avoid being seen on our monitors.

"However our feathered friend is clearly not camera shy and has no problem with providing us with a close up."
