Enfield Council is urging working parents to make sure they take advantage of the additional 15 hours funded Early Years childcare for three and four year olds.

- Up to 15 funded hours a week of childcare for two, three and four year olds

- Working parents of three and four year olds may be eligible for 15 extra hours a week

- Sessions are designed to support children’s development ahead of starting school

Enfield Council is urging working parents to make sure they take advantage of the additional 15 hours funded Early Years childcare for three and four year olds when it is rolled out in September.

All three and four year old children are already eligible for up to 15 hours of funded childcare a week during term time. Enfield Council is encouraging parents to check their eligibility for the additional childcare by visiting Link

To encourage as many people as possible to sign up for the funded provision Enfield Council has launched a campaign across the borough to inform parents of the childcare offers available and the eligibility criteria that applies for the two year old offer and the new additional 15 hours offer.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Children’s Services and Protection, Cllr Ayfer Orhan, said: “I would recommend residents check to see if they are eligible for the additional 15 hours childcare that is available from September. Apply as soon as you can because it could make a big difference to working families.

“We want to promote fairness for all and make sure that every parent who is eligible for funded childcare gets it, but the additional places are subject to availability which is why it is so important to apply early to avoid missing out.”

The council is also reminding parents that they can search the Family Information Directory for Ofsted Registered Childcare providers near them. Existing childcare providers can also look at Enfield Council’s training manual and find out more about the training, support, advice and guidance. Both are available at Link
