'Enfield Festivals' is the essential guide to an exciting summer in Enfield Council's parks, theatres, community centres, libraries and leisure centres.

Packed full of information about exciting events, musical entertainments, sports activities, park walks and nature trails, children's activities and fun there is something for people of all ages, covering a wide range of interests.

Local shopping centres and independent theatres, Chickenshed in Southgate and the Intimate at Palmers Green, are also taking part. Popular pub 'The King's Head' in Enfield Town is encouraging musicians and poets at their monthly Gaslight Club.

Cllr Yasemin Brett, Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Community, Arts & Culture, said: "We are very fortunate that in all parts of the borough people can enjoy such a wide variety of events and take part in activities.

"At Jubilee Park on 9 July 'The Igbo Festival' celebrates the arts and culture of Southern Nigeria, followed by 'Ghana in the Park' at Trent Park on 16 July.

"On 2, 9 and 16 August at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, Circulate features arts, first class dance and stunning circus acts plus a new art installation.

"Millfield Theatre and the Dugdale Centre have musical programmes, drama and youth events, bandstands are adding pleasure to our parks and Forty Hall Farm is holding a Food Festival on 28 and 29 August.

"Forty Hall also hosts 'The Spirit of Ukraine' on 4 September and the ever popular Enfield Town and Country Show on 24 and 25 September at Town Park is an opportunity to see the creativity of the groups displaying crafts, floral arts and prize vegetables – plus live music, cookery, motorbike stunts and festival of dogs.

"The people of Enfield have an extraordinary appetite for celebration and this year promises to be a winner. I urge everybody to pick up a free copy of 'Enfield Festivals' at the Civic Centre, libraries, Dugdale Centre, Millfield Theatre, Forty Hall or visit Enfield Festivals website
