Enfield Council is appealing for help in finding the driver of a van who was caught fly tipping in the borough earlier this year.

Enforcement officers from Enfield Council are very keen to find the owner of this van after its driver was spotted brazenly fly-tipping in the borough on 20 June

A man known as “Tony” was caught on camera illegally dumping the rubbish and now enforcement officers are keen to have a chat, and ,if appropriate, prosecute him or hand him a £400 Fixed Penalty Notice for fly-tipping.

He was spotted on Enfield Council’s CCTV cameras travelling along Hertford Road between Bridlington Road and South Street, before driving along South Street via Alma Road and down Green Street towards Greenmoor Road between 3.30-4.30pm.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Guney Dogan, said: “It’s just not acceptable to dump your rubbish on the side of the road in broad daylight because you can’t be bothered to dispose of your rubbish safely and appropriately.

“We’d love to track down ‘Tony’ and find out why he thinks using our streets as a dumping ground is acceptable behaviour and deal with him appropriately if he is the culprit. If you know who he is we’d urge you to get in touch.”

Residents are being asked to get in touch with Enfield Council if the know the identity of Tony, or recognise his distinctive yellow van.

People with information should contact enforcement officer Ricky Andrews by emailing ricky.andrews@enfield.gov.uk or ringing 020 8379 1000.
