It's time to dig into your overstocked cupboards and perhaps swap unwanted items for something more useful at the North London Waste Authority’s (NLWA) 'Give & Take' event.
'Give and Take' days are a great way to reuse items that are too good to throw away, but are no longer needed. Residents can bring along their unwanted, but reusable items and take away anything they like the look of - and it's all free!
Bulky items can be collected free of charge from your home before the event. All items must be in good working order, but soft furnishings such as sofas and armchairs must be fire labelled. Electrical items will be PAT tested on the day to ensure they are safe to use.
Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Daniel Anderson, said: "Give & Take Days are a fabulous way to offload and actively recycle any unwanted items by passing them on to others who could benefit from their usage.
"Importantly, events such as these ensure that perfectly good and useable items are not simply discarded and sent to waste. I'd therefore like to see many more similar such events in the months ahead."
