Have you ever fancied Wombling free and making good use of the things that you find? Then why not join in with a special event at Forty Hall which will create fantastic artwork from litter.

Have you ever fancied Wombling free and making good use of the things that you find? Then why not join in with a special event at Forty Hall which will create fantastic artwork from litter.

The Enfield event is all part of the country’s biggest-ever community clear up, the Great British Spring Clean, and Enfield Council wants volunteers to take part in an organised litter-pick at Forty Hall on Sunday 5 March.

The event will take place between 10.00am until midday, followed by a workshop in Forty Hall where, using items found during the clean-up, natural materials, paint and junk, participants can create beautiful garden scenes from waste.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Daniel Anderson, said: “Just like the Wombles, we are asking Enfield residents to help us give Forty Hall Park a makeover and then, using the materials gathered during the day, create works of art.

“We have an extensive programme of maintenance within the park, but it does cover a huge area and this event will support efforts by both our own staff and the Friends of the Park in helping keep this gem clean and tidy for the thousands of visitors who travel there every year.

“We are delighted to be supporting the clean-up, which will be bringing people together to tackle an issue, which our residents care passionately about, so I urge everyone, young and old alike, to sign up to the cause.”

Booking is essential and must be made in advance. To register please email: Email
