The sun has got his hat on, and Enfield residents have every reason to say ‘hip hip hip hooray’ as a plethora of fun events begins to warm up in Enfield.

Enfield Council wants residents and visitors to enjoy everything that is great about the borough as we head into summer  - from plays and top notch productions at Forty Hall, the Dugdale and The Millfield, to a huge range of sporting activities for all ages, and several events, such as music, walks and shows in our parks; there is truly something for everyone.

We have some wonderful activities going on throughout May right the way through the summer, to find out more information go to Millfield Theatre or Forty Hall Estate.

So now that the weather is warming up why not join in with our fantastic ‘Move More’ campaign which aims to get people active – for just 10 minutes, three times a day, to significantly improve their health and wellbeing. Enfield has many facilities if you want to get moving and our leisure centres offer a huge range of activities and facilities for you to get fit.

If you fancy getting into the great outdoors then why not try one of our many sports pitches for hire, or one the many green gyms in our parks? For those with a need for speed check out the speed skating track at Tatem Park! For history and a huge selection of beautiful woodland walks visit Trent Park in Cockfosters and if you feel more active why not be the ‘king of the swingers’ and visit the Go Ape experience whilst in the park?

For those who want to see a good performance we are very lucky to have two fantastic performance venues in Enfield, the Millfield Arts Centre in Edmonton and The Dugdale in Enfield Town. This summer visitors can see a host of tribute bands, dance, drama and comedy, right on your doorstep!

Forty Hall is also hosting some special summer events, such as music festivals, workshops and historical talks, after you visit the hall why not take some time to walk around its beautiful grounds?

For the city slickers amongst you why not check out our town centres? Sit back and enjoy the ambience at one of our cafes, bars or restaurants in one of the many main shopping centres, but make sure to go to one of our local independent businesses and keep your money local.

The Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Doug Taylor, said: “We want people to have access to our open spaces and high quality leisure activities. So now the weather is warming up I would urge everyone to turn off the TV or computer, get out of the house and see for yourself the huge amount of activities and events that you can do in our busy borough.

“If you are on a budget many of these activities are free, such as walking in our open spaces, using our green gyms or walking around Forty Hall and its picturesque grounds.

“For children why not take them out to one of the many events being staged throughout the summer in our arts venues, or to one of our playgrounds which have been installed in our parks right across the borough?

“To finish why not grab a coffee and some lunch from one of our delightful local cafés? Make sure you buy local and support one of the hundreds of small businesses that we have in Enfield.

“There has never been a better time to get out there and enjoy Enfield.”
