From 13 March Enfield residents' green bin and food collection service will be going fortnightly. The decision follows a comprehensive consultation with local residents.

In addition, householders with 'slim line' green bins (140L) have been given the opportunity to exchange them for a standard 240L bin.

Residents will also be able to hire a second green bin, for £35 a year, or can take any excess to Barrowell Green Recycling Centre in Winchmore Hill. Compost bins can also be purchased at a reduced price to help with organic recycling.

Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Daniel Anderson, said: "In the coming weeks, prior to the fortnightly service going live in March, all residents will be receiving a calendar outlining when their green bin collections will be.

"We want to make sure that everyone is fully aware so that the transition is made as smoothly as possible.”
