A blonde woman from North Middlesex Hospital was tracked down by Enfield Council's CCTV team and returned to her ward before any harm befell her.

The incident happened at 10.35am on June 21, after CCTV operators heard police officers were looking for the lady, in her 40s. She was promptly spotted in Hertford Road, Edmonton, officers were directed to her location where she was collected and returned to hospital.

Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Community Safety & Public Health, Cllr Krystle Fonyonga, said: "Our award winning CCTV team provides all manner of benefits to our community and in this case, while they did not help prevent a crime, they played a pivotal role in tracking down a vulnerable woman before she came to harm."
