On Friday the streets of Enfield were filled with hundreds of participants taking part in the annual Enfield Night Hike.

Arranged by The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre, in conjunction with Enfield Council, the hike invited everyone to take part in a 15km sponsored charity walk to raise money for local people living with cancer.

This year nearly 300 people took part wearing glowing bunny ears and t-shirts designed by themselves, hiking their way through the streets of Enfield Town, Chase, Turkey Street, Enfield Highway and Southbury.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Safety & Public Health, Cllr Krystle Fonyonga said “I am absolutely delighted the Night Hike has so far raised over £4,000 from entries alone, and donations are still to be calculated. This will all go towards supporting people with cancer.

"The celebratory atmosphere of the hike was contagious, and there was a real sense of achievement in the crowd.

"I would like to thank everyone who took part, and also those who helped organise the hike. It was a fantastic evening, and a huge well done to all those who took part.”
