Green Lanes was greener than ever this week, after the installation of six planters as part of a project to make the area more attractive for everyone.

Cllr Daniel Anderson, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment went to this site to see for himself how the steel planters, cast in a ‘pearl copper’ colour, will create a permanent floral feature down this busy road.

He met with staff from contractors 'Glendale' who were busy finishing planting. The scheme, funded by Enfield Council, will make the area, which is in Bowes Ward close to the North Circular Road, more visually attractive by planting several low maintenance plants including shrubs and a number of edible plants and herbs which can be picked by residents.

Cllr Anderson said “Enfield is rightly proud of its beautiful greenery, and these planters, which will contain such plants as thyme, sage and oregano will enhance the look and feel of the area making it an even more vibrant and attractive place to live, work and visit."
