Parents are being urged to submit their applications soon to maximise the chances of their children getting a primary or nursery place of their choice.

  • Deadline for primary and nursery applications is 15 January
  • Most primary schools in Enfield rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted
  • Applications received after 15 January reduce the chance of parents getting their chosen school

Parents are being urged to submit their applications soon to maximise the chances of their children getting a primary or nursery place of their choice.

The deadline for children starting primary and nursery school in September 2017 term is 15 January. Parents can apply online at www.enfield.gov.uk and will maximise their chances of getting a chosen school by submitting their application by the deadline.

Children born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014 are eligible for a nursery place, while children born between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013 are eligible for a primary school place.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Children’s Services and Protection, Cllr Ayfer Orhan, said: "A truly fantastic 98 per cent of our primary schools have been rated as 'Good' or 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and it is understandable that parents want their children to go to a school of their choice.

"In order to maximise the chances of that happening, it is vitally important that they apply for a primary school place in plenty of time.

"It is easy to apply online at www.enfield.gov.uk so I very much recommend that you fill out the application form as a matter of urgency if you haven’t already."
