A record number of people attended Enfield Council’s jobs, training and apprenticeship fair on Friday (28 September), drawing applications for positions across many sectors.
Over 70 businesses attended including big-hitters such as Stansted Airport Academy, Tesco, McDonald’s and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, all looking for employees or enthusiastic people to train.
As well as employers, there was also representation from Enfield’s further education colleges. This fair, the 20th to be hosted by the Council, had more apprenticeships on offer than all previous Enfield Council events. In total there were nearly 640 attendees.
Mayor of Enfield Cllr Saray Karakus, who attended the fair and spoke to many employers and job seekers, said: “These job fairs are a great way of bringing important, large employers in touch with people of all ages who want employment, training or apprenticeship offers. This year, there was a particularly good turnout with many businesses offering the opportunity for new employees to be part of the ongoing regeneration of the borough.
“I’d like to wish all job seekers the very best of luck going forward.”
Enfield Council has its own jobs board, available on its website. You can find out more and apply for positions here .
