Residents across Enfield are being urged to make sure they are on the electoral register so they are able to vote in future elections.

Every household in the borough has been sent a Household Enquiry form asking residents to confirm their details for the electoral register. Reminders are now being sent, to those households who have not yet been able to respond and it is vitally important that you complete the form to make sure you are included on the electoral register.

Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Finance and Efficiency, Cllr Dino Lemonides, said: "Democracy is all about people. And if you want to make sure you have a say on how your neighbourhood, town or country is run then make sure you are registered to vote as this is one of the best way to ensure your voice is heard.

"While there are no planned elections coming up it is still important that the electoral register is up to date as an election can be called at any time. Not being on the register can also affect your credit rating."

If there are no changes to information on the form: You still need to let us know either by confirming this by visiting our household update service or by calling 0800 197 9871 or texting NOCHANGE (followed by the security code on your form) to 80212.

If changes need to be made, for example someone has left or moved in to the property then residents will need to tell the Council by either visiting our household update service or by completing and returning the form in the post using the envelope provided (postage is free).

If, once you have responded to the form, anyone needs to be added to the register they will need to formally apply by visiting GOV.UK. Alternatively, the Electoral Services Team can email or send you a form to complete.

If you have lost your form or need any help in understanding or completing the form then please contact the Electoral Registration Team on 020 8379 8588.
