Runners inspired by the recent scenes of medal-winning finishes can lace up their trainers for a great time on Friday 16 September at midnight.
The annual 10km and 3km Fun Run and 3km Fun Walk, organised by Enfield Council in support of the Mayor's Charity, will take place again this year in the beautiful grounds of Forty Hall.
Last year 607 people took part, competing in either the 3km run (for ages 6+) which starts at 10.15am, the 3km walk (all ages) at 10.25am or the 10km (16+) run at 11.15am. Money raised from the Fun Runs and Fun Walk will be donated to the Mayor's chosen charity, 'Enfield Sounds Great', which is a year-long musical festival dedicated to raising funds to support various local musical causes.
The Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Bernadette Lappage, said "After seeing so many stunning performances in the Olympic Games, everyone can show their athletic side and take part in these fun races and walks. "Whether you participate as an individual, a family, a work group, or even volunteer to marshal, we guarantee a great day out.
"People will be surprised to discover just how much music is performed in our borough. I want them to enjoy it in every way – listening, playing instruments, singing, dancing and discovering the enormous output and variety. Every penny raised during this year's Fun Run will go straight to my chosen charity 'Enfield Sounds Great' to help this happen."
You can register to participate online by 14 September. No entries will be allowed on the day. Numbers are limited, so people are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment.
