Hard working postal staff were thanked for their efforts during an early morning visit by Enfield Council's leader and Mayor.

Cllr Doug Taylor and Cllr Bernadette Lappage, visited the Enfield Delivery Office today (Friday 2 December) to thank postmen and women during Royal Mail's busiest period.

The pair were shown around the site and were introduced to the postmen and women, who are pulling out all the stops to sort and deliver mail in the Enfield area over the Christmas period.

Cllr Bernadette Lappage said: "At no other time is the hard work and dedication of postmen and women clearer than during the festive period.

"I thank them for the extraordinary lengths they go to ensure Christmas cards and presents are delivered to loved ones on time, and for all they do year-round."

Cllr Doug Taylor, said: "It was a pleasure to meet the staff at Enfield Delivery Office as they gear up for Christmas.

"Meeting the demands of the busy Christmas period is a  huge undertaking and I think it's fair to say, without the hard work and dedication of our postal workers, Christmas just wouldn’t be the same."
