A scheme which offers a free business advice session to help companies in Enfield compete more effectively in the online world has been welcomed by Enfield Council’s business chief.

Cllr Alan Sitkin, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Business saw for himself the support available from Enterprise Enfield at the Let’s Go! Business Hub at Enfield Business Centre in Hertford Road, Enfield, this week and spoke to expert advisor Sara Carter.

Cllr Sitkin said: “We know that the way people shop is changing and there is an increased trend toward online shopping for a vast array of products. To be profitable in the present economic climate it is vital the our borough’s businesses understand how trading online can supplement and support their offline activities and increase their profit margin.

“Enfield Council is absolutely committed to supporting the borough’s businesses through a range of different schemes and initiatives. The free advice which is available to companies in Enfield is excellent and I’d thoroughly recommend anyone who hasn’t already signed up to come along and chat to a business advisor.”

Companies operating in the borough are eligible for a free hour long session with a business advisor which covers a range of advice range from writing a business plan, identifying funding, marketing techniques, how to set up a website and what it should contain and other suggestions as to how to increase their profitability. Enterprise Enfield  also offers business advice surgeries for companies seeking to increase their sales.

Chief Executive of Enterprise Enfield, Despina Johnson said: “It is an incredibly competitive world at the moment and business owners need to be fully aware of how to identify and then reach and engage with their customers. The free sessions Enterprise Enfield is offering will provide expert advice to help companies in Enfield increase their bottom line, improve their profitability and tailor their business models so they can maximise their profits in the present economic environment.”
