The 55 year old man, who was wanted in connection with Grievous Bodily Harm, was spotted at the junction of Nags Head Road and Hertford Road at 4.16pm on May 29, operators alerted police and followed the vehicles on their cameras and he was eventually arrested in Main Avenue in connection with GBH and drink driving.

Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Community Safety & Public Health, Cllr Krystle Fonyonga, said: "It is fantastic news that our CCTV operators have once again successfully identified and aided in the arrest of an alleged violent criminal.

"Our award winning CCTV network is proven to make our streets safer, and we will continue to work with our partners in the Metropolitan Police to ensure that together we reduce crime in this borough and protect all the innocent people who live in it."

Enfield Police Borough Commander, Chief Supt Carl Robinson said: "This is yet another good example of partnership working in action. If you commit crime in Enfield expect to be arrested and taken to court."
