Disabled toilet and changing facilities

It’s not always easy to get to places if you have a disability. DisabledGo is a national project that provides free detailed access information for disabled people.

When you are out and about with a child or young person, the following places offer accessible toilet and changing facilities:

  • Albany Leisure Centre has an H-frame hoist (you must bring your own sling), a height adjustable changing bed, and an accessible toilet and shower.
  • Southgate Leisure Centre has an H-frame hoist (you must bring your own sling), a height adjustable changing bed, and an accessible toilet and shower.
  • Dugdale Centre has an H-frame hoist (you must bring your own sling), a height adjustable changing bed and an accessible toilet.

The community toilet scheme is a borough-wide scheme to provide clean, safe and accessible public toilets in more convenient locations for residents and visitors. Several of the premises offer wheelchair access.

The RADAR National Key Scheme also ensures that people with disabilities have easy access to over 7,000 locked public toilets around the country.
