Local council elections

Local council elections are being held on Thursday 3 May 2018. There are 63 seats across Enfield’s 21 wards up for election.

How to stand as a candidate

If you are interested in standing as a candidate and need more information, see our standing as a councillor page. You can also contact the Head of Electoral Services.

Nomination packs will be available to collect from Thursday 1 March 2018 by visiting:

Silver Street

Nomination papers should be returned by 4pm on Friday 6 April 2018.

Register to vote

The deadline to register to vote for the local council elections is Tuesday 17 April 2018. You can register to vote by visiting GOV.UK.

If you have not moved home and are already registered, there is no need to register to vote again.

Poll cards will be sent to those already registered from Monday 26 March 2018.

Voting by post or proxy

If you're unable to get to a polling station on election day, you can apply to vote by post. The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday 18 April 2018.

You can also appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. The deadline for proxy vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday 25 April 2018.

You must be registered to vote before you can apply to vote by post or proxy.
