Health and safety at work

Our authorised officers enforce health and safety regulations in a range of non-industrial premises, including warehouses and leisure centres. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) enforces regulations in premises that are not enforced by Enfield Council. These include construction sites, schools and factories.

Reporting injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences

The following people have a legal duty to report work-related deaths or major injuries, injuries lasting longer than three days, work-related diseases and dangerous occurrences (including near-miss accidents):

  • employers
  • self-employed people
  • people in control of premises
