Allotment applications and changes

Access to allotments during the coronavirus crisis

Allotments are currently open to support your health and wellbeing. We want to keep allotments open for as long as we can but need your support.

The following guidance will help prevent the spread of coronavirus:

  • No social gatherings, such as meeting up with friends
  • Keep your visit to the allotment as short as possible
  • Use hand sanitiser before opening and closing any gate locks
  • Do not share tools
  • Do not wash your hands in water tanks
  • Keep a distance of at least one metre from other people

For more guidance, visit The National Allotment Society.

Applying for an allotment

To rent an allotment, you must first complete our online enquiry. We will then get back to you within ten working days.

You can see which allotment sites have an open waiting list on our allotment waiting list (.xlsx). We do not hold waiting lists for Gough Park, Clay Hill, Aylands, Alma Road and Falcon Field allotments as we don't manage these sites.

While waiting for an allotment, if you would like to see opportunities for volunteering in local parks, visit our volunteering in parks and open spaces page.

Once we confirm your plot, you will need to sign a tenancy agreement and pay your invoice. You will then be issued with a key to your allotment.
