Local plan - Master plans

Enfield Town Centre is the borough's primary shopping, commercial and administrative centre. Work on an action plan advanced but went on hold to enable the adoption of Enfield's Core Strategy.

We are advancing a regeneration strategy, through an Enfield Town Centre Master Plan. This will unlock identified development sites and guide new investment. The Master Plan will progress as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and will form part of Enfield's Local Plan.

A draft Master Plan will be subject to public consultation. For more information, contact the Local Plans Team.

More information about the Baseline stage and the Issues and Options stage can be found in these documents:

Meridian Water is a collection of vacant industrial sites in Upper Edmonton, around a 10 minute walk to Edmonton Green and Angel Edmonton. It's bordered by Lee Valley Regional Park.

Meridian Water is the largest regeneration priority area in the council's adopted Core Strategy (2010).

The masterplan (and supporting documentation) manages change, development, and all planning applications in the area:

The Masterplan explains how the visions and goals for Meridian Water can be delivered and the impact of these changes.

Transformational change at Meridian Water is also a priority for the Mayor of London, who has recognised the importance of supporting the regeneration of the Upper Lee Valley.

The New Southgate Master Plan was adopted in December 2010. You can view the plan and supporting documents by following the link to the masterplan (PDF, 7MB).

The Master Plan is a Supplementary Planning Document in our Local Plan.
