Enfield LGBT network

The Enfield lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) network is a consortium of voluntary and statutory sector organisations and individuals living, working or studying in the borough. Its aim is to improve services and the quality of life for the LGBTQ+ community in Enfield.

It does this by providing support services to the community and by supporting other service providers to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ people. The network also participates in consultancy and advisory groups in and outside the borough, representing the LGBTQ+ community.

The network provides the following services:

  • Hate crime reporting
  • Confidential advice and support about LGBT crime
  • Lesbian and gay men's social group
  • Lesbian social group
  • Transgender persons' social group
  • HIV and gay men's support group
  • Domestic violence advice
  • Counselling service
  • Mental health service users' support group
  • Youth social group (for people aged 13 to 18 years old)

London organisations

  • Enfield LGBT Network has a range of services including counselling and a youth group
  • The Food Chain offers healthy food to those living with HIV in London
  • Galop is a London based advice and support for people who have experienced biphobia, homophobia, transphobia, sexual violence or domestic abuse
  • Switchboard - the LGBT+ helpline is a free and confidential support and advice

National organisations

  • The Beaumont Society offers help and support for the transgender community
  • LGBT Consortium focuses on the development and support of LGBTQ+ groups, projects and organisations
  • Stonewall is a LGBT charity and lobbying group
  • Terrence Higgins Trust is a sexual health charity with particular focus on HIV
  • UK Lesbian & Gay Immigration Group is a charity promoting equality and dignity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people who seek asylum in the UK, or who wish to immigrate here to be with their same-sex partner
  • UK Intersex Association is an education, advocacy, campaigning and support organisation which works on behalf of Intersex people. Intersex people are individuals whose anatomy or physiology differ from contemporary cultural stereotypes of what constitute typical male and female.
