In April 2009, the Equality Framework for Local Government became the main measure of performance around equalities work undertaken by local authorities. The Framework measures how effective local authorities are in providing fair services that provide positive outcomes for residents, and how well they are complying with the statutory requirements of the Equality Act 2010.
In March 2013, we were assessed according to the Equality Framework for Local Government. We were awarded an 'excellent' rating by a team of peer assessors organised by the Local Government Association.
