Uniformed organisations

Scouts – we are the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation offering 6 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.

Girl Guiding (5 -25 yrs) – participants take on adventurous activities, such as climbing, canoeing, sailing and orienteering and have the opportunity to get involved in camps and international events, including girl-only festivals and overseas development projects.  In local groups – called ‘units’ – girls complete badges and challenges that cover topics from circus skills, stargazing and scientific investigation, to first aid, camping and community action.

Army Cadets – the Army Cadet Force (ACF) has over 41,000 cadets in more than 1,600 detachments all over the country and is one of the biggest and best clubs around. Become an Army Cadet and you’ll be spending your spare time taking part in adventurous activities like rock climbing, mountain biking, archery and abseiling. There will also be plenty of chance to play all your favourite sports because the ACF has competitions for both boys and girls at county, regional and national level.

Sea Cadets – whether at sea or on land, the Sea Cadets offers young people across the UK amazing opportunities for personal development – by learning new skills and working in teams –  we offer an environment where young people find new confidence and inspiration.

RAF Cadets – if you’re a fan of aviation, action and adventure, love sports and getting to know people then you’re in the right place. Every year nearly 56,000 air cadets and volunteer staff take part in exciting events all over the country. And with over 1,000 squadrons across the UK, you could be one of them.
